The proposed process of restructuring of European cities is aimed at their development and increase of attractiveness, while challenged by global competition. The Conference’s objective is to indicate the innovative role of architecture and creative potential of architects and urban planners. The Conference is to signal the role of harmony of urban environment, while responding to the Europe 2020 Strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. Life quality in a friendly environment is more valuable than short-term and territory-limited profits and benefits of strictly economical nature. That pertains to all levels of activity: national, regional, municipal, corporate and individual.

The Conference participants will represent central and municipal authorities, culture and education, non-governmental organizations, professional bodies in the fields of architecture, urban design and planning, as well as students and journalists. The EU Member States, the candidate countries, Turkey, Eastern Partnership countries and Russia are expected to be present.
